Info Post
Recently I received a email from my friend Chad Miller at ReWriting Dad sharing a story about a young mom who is currently battling Stage 3 cancer.  And, part of me wanted to close my eyes to it because that is something that is terrifying to me.  I have lost friends to the monster that is cancer.  My brother struggled with it.  Family members have died from it.  And it scares the absolute crap out of me.

But, hiding my head in the sand isn't going to help. And, it certainly isn't going to send positivity to someone who really needs some encouragement at this time in her life.  So it's time to put on my big girl panties and reach out to help someone I've never met.  Lindsey Brister. A 28 year old woman fighting for her life.

Here's the letter I received from Chad:

Thank you for taking time and giving this request some attention and consideration. Lindsey - Mom, Wife, Daughter, Friend, and so much more - is in the fight for her life. She has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.

Lindsey is an aid at the same school my son attends and I work. Her husband is one of our coaches.

My wife and I understand the severity of this cancer as we just witnessed the loss of another young mother this past summer to the same disease. Heartbreaking is an understatement.

Amber, my wife, is currently working with the best friend of the Mom who lost her battle putting together a chemo bag that Lindsey can use during her lengthy treatments. It'll be filled with healthy snacks, gift cards to purchase ebooks, notes of encouragement and other comfort items. This is where you can help.

We want to shower Lindsey with encouragement. A campaign for encouraging notes from women has been started here locally in our small community. Though we've had great response in a short time, I know she's in for a long battle and the more support she has, the more strength she'll have to fight.

Tracy, can you and the Epistolarians help me reach our blogging community to shower her with notes of support and encouragement? This is such a simple act that takes no more than a few minutes.

Here's the link to her blog... by the way, you'll need a tissue. http://www.lindseysfight.blogspot.com/

Here's where we come in.  We need to reach out to our sister and send copious love, strength, encouragement and support to her.  Because, you never know when YOU will need to get it back from the universe.  All it will take is a few moments of time.  Check out her site.  Send her some encouragement.  Perhaps contribute.  Add her to your prayers.  And remember to be thankful for your own blessings.

If you wish to send me  an email to forward to Lindsey - please do at epistolarians@hotmail.com.  You can also respond here with comments.   I will be putting together our own words in a post in a few days from all the fantastic women here at The Epistolarians.

Thank you,

Tracy @ Momaical
